Thinkpad X13
Allgemeines
Das Lenovo Thinkpad X13 ist ein 13"-Business Laptop. Es sieht etwas altbacken aus und ist - verglichen mit einem Dell XPS 13 oder einem Thinkpad X1 Carbon - relativ dick.
Es hat eine hervorragende Tastatur.
Das Thinkpad X11 gibt es mit einem so genannten Privacy Guard-Display, das angeblich 500 nits hell leuchten kann, aber wohl nur, wenn der Privacy Guard abgeschaltet ist. Der Privacy Guard lässt sich mit Fn+D ein- und ausschalten. Bei eingeschaltetem Privacy Guard kann man vom seitlichen bzw. vertikal entfernten Winkel nicht mehr so gut das auf dem Display Dargestellte erkennen. Ganz wird der Seitenwinkel aber nicht ausgeblendet. Fn+D auch unter Linux (getestet mit Ubuntu 20.04 Focal Fossa).
Die Thinkpad X13 Gen1 bringen in der Intelvariante auch einen Thunderbolt 3-Anschluss (als USB-C) und USB 3.2 Gen 1 mit, in der AMD Variante zwar kein Thunderbolt, dafür aber USB 3.2 Gen2.
Manche Modelle haben ein LTE-Modem - zu erkennen am kleinen Schacht auf der Rückseite.
Das Top-Modell intel-seitig (es gibt auch AMD-Varianten, die angeblich schneller sind, aber etwas weniger Akkulaufzeit mitbringen) ist ein i7-10610 (entspricht dem i7-10510 mit etwas Sicherheits-Schnickschnack).
Linux Unterstützung
Die Linux-Unterstützung geht so weit, dass im GNOME Software Manager auch BIOS Updates angezeigt werden. Im Hintergrund sorgt dafür der Linux Vendor Firmware Service (LVFS) (Eine Übersicht über andere Hersteller, die fwupdmgr unterstützen, findet sich bei LVFS).
